Philip Randall White passed away peacefully on May 17, 2026, in his hometown of Lubbock, Texas. Born on September 8, 1954, Phil lived a life rooted in the community and culture of Texas, a place he never wished to leave.
A graduate of Lubbock High School, Phil was known among friends and family as a storyteller, someone who cherished the simplicity of life and the comfort of home. Phil enjoyed music, fishing, sports, gardening and western movies. There were many beloved dogs and other pets by his side over the years.
These simple pleasures, along with his unwavering loyalty to Texas and his fandom of Texas Tech, reflected his grounded and heartfelt approach to life.
Phil is survived by his loving sister Martha Tadtman, her husband Jim, her daughter Lauren Krause, and Lauren’s son Hayden Lee. He is also survived by his sister Paula Szuwalski, her husband Kelvin Johnson, her son Cody Szuwalski along with his wife Eura and their daughters Evelyn and Clara, and Paula’s daughter Lacy Szuwalski. His lifelong partner, Pam Buckner and dear friend Evan “Chief” Toney stood by his side through the years, sharing life’s journey and joys.
Phil was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Harrington and Harley White, whose memories he cherished deeply.
Though he left this world, Phil's legacy lives on through the music, and the stories he told, and the love he gave to those closest to him. He will be remembered for his gentle nature, his dedication to Texas, and the simple yet profound way he touched the lives of those around him. His memory remains a blessing to all who had the privilege to know him.
