Priscilla Faye Ortiz, 65, of Lubbock, entered her heavenly home on Friday, June 12, 2026. She was born in Carlsbad, New Mexico, to Efren S. Navarrette and Faye Deanda Navarrette.
Priscilla was raised in Carlsbad, where she attended local schools and graduated from Carlsbad Senior High School. On May 14, 1977, she married the love of her life, Mauro R. Ortiz, in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Together they shared 49 years of marriage filled with love, devotion, and cherished memories.
Throughout her career, Priscilla worked as a medical assistant, serving others with compassion and care for many years.
Priscilla was an avid sports fan who enjoyed cheering for all sports teams that her children and grandchildren participated in. Her loyalty to the Philadelphia Eagles and Houston Astros was unmatched. She also appreciated life's simple pleasures, including a good afternoon nap.
Priscilla treasured her family. Her greatest happiness came from spending time with her loved ones, especially her nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her. She was truly one of a kind!
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Mauro R. Ortiz; children, Mauro E. Ortiz, Brianne Ortiz, Adrian (Natalie) Ortiz, and Ivan Ortiz; grandchildren, Jacob, Maya, Sierra; Eva, Phoenix, Rafael; Ivianna and Naomi; great grandchildren, Olivia and Grayson; and siblings, Efren D. Navarrette and Lionel Navarrette; plus uncles Eloy Navarrette, Narciso DeAnda and Frank DeAnda; numerous cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Guillermo Navarrette and Christina Vargas.
A memorial service will be held at Greenlawn Church of Christ, Lubbock and also in Carlsbad, NM at a later date. Inurnment will be at Carlsbad Cemetery.
