Ramiro Lopez, 86, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on April 22, 1939, to Jesus Lopez and Anita Perez, Ramiro lived a full and joyful life rooted in family, music, and simple pleasures.
Ramiro was a man of many passions. Saturdays were reserved for golf, where his tee-offs were as steady as his cheerful laugh. He had a love for shopping and always looked his best, a reflection of his vibrant personality. Music was the soundtrack of his life. He not only sang and played the guitar but also dedicated himself to building his own guitars, much to the playful exasperation of his beloved wife, Teresa, who often found his supplies spilling into every corner of the house and garage. Ramiro was also a skilled craftsman, building cabinets by hand and proudly teaching his family this unique art, passing on his love for working with wood to the next generation. Ramiro, a devoted husband, cherished his weekly Friday dinner dates with Teresa. Whether at Cheddar’s, Applebee’s, or even Olive Garden, which he lovingly tolerated because it was one of her favorites, those evenings were sacred to him. Teresa was the center of his world, his rock, and the foundation of their family. He often said he was the man he was because of her unwavering love and support.
Ramiro’s life was a testament to devotion, laughter, and love, a melody that will echo in the hearts of all who knew him. He leaves behind his loving family and friends who will forever treasure his warmth, humor, and music.
He is survived by his brother, Alvino Lopez of Lubbock, sisters, Alicia Torres and Rachel Mercado, both of Lubbock, sons, Johnny Lopez and Efrain Lopez, both of Lubbock, 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
He is proceeded in death by his loving wife, Teresa Lopez.
