Randy Martin Palombit, 71, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2025, at his home in Lubbock, Texas, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Caribou, Maine, on September 10, 1953, Randy served in the U.S. Navy from 1972 to 1978. After his service, he attended trade school and began his early career as a car mechanic.
He later transitioned into management and spent many years as General Manager of Alpha Plasma Center in Lubbock. Eventually, he found his favorite role—as a physical education teacher and middle school basketball coach at Christ the King Cathedral School. He later worked for AT&T for 15 years, retiring in 2019.
Randy had a creative spirit and found fulfillment in life’s simple pleasures. He loved working in his yard, capturing moments through photography, editing videos, and watching his fish swim peacefully in the tank. More than anything, he cherished time spent with his kids and grandkids—being in their company was his greatest joy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Ruth Palombit, and his son, Jason Palombit.
He is survived by his five daughters: Jessica (John) Hill, Melissa (Jared) Johnson, Andrea (Blake) Riley, Gina, and Victoria; and by seven grandchildren: Emma, Anthony, Alexa, Jaxson, Aria, Cooper, and Lyndi.
A private memorial service will be held Saturday, June 7, 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Chapel of Combest Family Funeral Homes.
