Raul G. Mojica, 68, of Lubbock, loving husband of Selia (Galarza) Mojica, was lifted into Heaven by his Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 20, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Raul was born on November 8, 1956, in Morton, Cochran County, Texas, to the late Antonio Mojica and Cora (Garcia) Mojica.

Raul attended Lubbock High School and graduated with his senior class in 1975. He furthered his education by attending Texas Tech University.

Raul met the love of his life, Selia Galarza, and they were united in marriage on April 22, 1978, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lubbock. Out of this union were born two wonderful children, Erica and Raul, Jr.

Raul worked in retail grocery most of his life, being employed by Wal-Mart on Quaker and Loop 289, where he was an Assistant Manager. He transferred to the 4th and Slide location and served over 10 years with Wal-Mart. He then worked for Food King at 82nd and Slide before retiring in 2025.

Raul was a collector of action figures, cards, sports memorabilia, and was a true, faithful and avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He loved to watch action films and movies, especially the Avengers. He loved his children, always bringing his family together. Raul made every moment special, especially for celebrations and holidays. Raul was a kind and gentle soul, and a kid at heart. Raul was a member of Trinity Church and the Trinity Men’s Club that met for breakfast every Friday morning at 6 AM.

Those left behind to honor and cherish his memory include his wife, Selia; a daughter, Erica Schawinsky and husband Michael of Houston; a son, Raul Isaiah Mojica; three brothers: Rudy Samarripas and wife Benita of Lubbock, Jimmy Mojica and wife Sylvia of Lubbock, and Ruben Mojica and wife Sandra of Flower Mound; three sisters: Aurora Hicks of Louisiana, Cindy Yanzuk of Lubbock and Sylvia Franco and husband Mark of Austin; three adored grandchildren: Rey Mojica, Averie Schawinsky and Isaiah Mojica. Raul was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Jesse and Abel; one sister, Nora.

Memorial services will be announced soon.

Cremation arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Homes and Crematory.
