Ray Haney

April 27, 1934 — December 8, 2021

Ray "Jeep" Haney, 87, of Lubbock passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2021. He was born in Floydada, TX to John Wesley and Elizabeth Mart Haney on April 27, 1934. He married Rita Kay Bumpass in Clovis, NM in 1955. They had three children. He worked in the fertilizer business most of his life. He was a member of T-Bar Country Club and was an avid Red Raider fan. Rita Kay passed away in 1997. He later met and married Susan Fulford in 1998 and she brought 2 children. Jeep loved his family and friends. He was the light in the room and the life of the party.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rita; three brothers; stepson, Michael; and stepdaughter, Suzan.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Susan; children, Mike (Carolyn) Haney of Lubbock, Doyce (Jana) Haney of Granbury, and Sarita Haney of Terrell; stepson, Danny (Cheryl) Sanders of Littlefield; seven grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, December 12, 2021, at Combest Family Memorial Chapel with family receiving friends 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. A service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 13, 2021, at Combest Family Memorial Chapel with burial to follow at City of Lubbock Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Haney, Josh Haney, Keaton Haney, Grayson Haney, Michael Shields, Christopher Thorn, Ryan Sneller, and Justice Rice.
