Raymon Lee Stotts

August 3, 1938 — August 28, 2023

Tahoka, TX

Raymon Lee Stotts, 85, of Tahoka, TX, went to be with his Lord and Savior, with his family by his side, on Monday, August 28, 2023. He was born on August 3, 1938, in Greenville, TX, to William Joseph Stotts (Bill) and Cleo Imogene Stotts.

Raymon attended Lubbock High School during the time of Buddy Holly, but dropped out because "there was too much recess." He went on to work in route sales for Borden Milk and Baldridge Bakery, delivering bread. On one of his several deliveries in Tahoka, "the most beautiful woman in the world" caught his eye. Doris Gage became the love of his life, and they were married for 62 years. They share four children together, Mitch Browning, Darryl Stotts, Randall Stotts, and Shawn Stotts.

Raymon spent many years in the long-haul trucking industry, driving for Furr's Supermarket & Cafeteria, Robert Heath Trucking and finally retiring from Wal-Mart after 20+ years with their trucking department.

He was one to never have met a stranger. The staff of every Braum's and Cracker Barrel along his routes knew him personally. He enjoyed helping his kids with their show pigs, playing softball, and cheering on his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids in their sporting events. He loved traveling with Doris to find Beanie Babies.

He is survived by his wife, Doris Stotts of Tahoka, TX; four children, Mitch Browning of Lubbock, TX, Darryl Stotts of Lubbock, TX, Randall (Donna) Stotts of Blue Springs, MO, and Shawn (Genna) Stotts of Canyon, TX; his twin brother, Daymon Stotts of Lubbock, TX; and younger brother Gerald Stotts of Lone Oak, TX; eight grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William Joseph Stotts and Cleo Imogene Stotts; two sisters, Ann Smith, and Sue Wallace; two brothers, Freddy Stotts, and Larry Stotts; and one daughter-in-law, Nancy Browning.

He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

A time of visitation will be held Thursday, August 31, 2023, from 4PM-7PM, at the Combest Memorial Chapel in Tahoka, TX.

A funeral service will be held Friday, September 1, 2023, at 10AM at the First Baptist Church of Tahoka, TX. A graveside service will be held Friday, September 1, 2023, at 2PM at Resthaven Memorial Park.
