Lubbock

Raymond Glenn Martin, a man whose life was defined by his unwavering kindness and dedication, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2026 at the age of 66. Born in the small town of Post on February 14, 1960 to Raymond Leon and Francis Audrey (Bucannon) Martin, the family moved to Lubbock when he was a young boy. Raymond attended Dunbar High School. Those early years were just the beginning of a life filled with purpose and commitment. For many years, he worked as a wrecker driver, a profession he embraced with pride and determination. Glenn found great satisfaction in helping businesses manage abandoned vehicles, always taking the responsibility seriously with a quiet diligence that was admired by colleagues and clients alike. It was a job that spoke to his character—steady, dependable, and deeply caring beneath a sometimes stubborn exterior.

Those close to Glenn knew him as a man with a big heart, always willing to lend a hand and offer support. Fondly remembered as a “teddy bear,” he was a helper of people, someone you could rely on in any situation. His tough exterior sometimes masked the deep love he held within, but anyone who looked beyond saw a soul overflowing with affection and warmth.

Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 34 years, Dorothy Oliver of Lubbock; children: Clint Oliver and wife Elva of Lubbock, Lenette Burton and husband Bobby of Ft. Worth, and Mike Oliver and wife Mistie of Lubbock; bonus daughters: Holly Barton and husband Josh, Linda Carrasco and husband John, and Krista Oliver-Jackson and husband Jeremy, all of whom were woven lovingly into the fabric of his extended family. He also treasured his role as a great-grandfather, leaving behind several great-grandchildren.

Memorial services are pending at this time.
