Renee Rogahn-Turner

November 12, 1948 — December 23, 2025

Lubbock

Renee Carole Dosien Rogahn‑Turner, 77, was received into her heavenly home on December 23, 2025. Born in Houston, Texas on November 12, 1948, Renee was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church, beginning a lifelong walk of quiet faith and service. Renee spent her life dedicated to her family and to the simple joys that brought her peace and purpose.

She was the firstborn child of Robert and Roberta Hofmann Dosien. She spent three years at Denver Lutheran High School before the family relocated to Minnesota, where she completed her studies and graduated from Concordia, a St. Paul Lutheran High School, in 1966. She engaged in the musical life of Concordia College in St. Paul, Minnesota, where she sang in the Concordia Chorale and played the violin, sharing her love of music with grace and joy. Renee was active in ministry throughout her life, serving at Our Savior Lutheran in Excelsior, Minnesota; St. Peter’s Lutheran in La Grange, Missouri; and Our Savior Lutheran in El Paso, Texas. She also co-founded Project Thanksgiving among the Tarahumara people of the Sierra Madre in Chihuahua, Mexico during a four-year drought, offering compassion and care where it was most needed.

Renee’s professional life reflected her dedication to detail and service. She worked as a legal secretary at firms in Sheboygan, Wisconsin; Springfield, Illinois; and Lubbock, Texas, where her quiet dedication and caring nature touched everyone she worked with.

Renee was a devoted mother to her three sons, Matthew Rogahn, Aaron Rogahn, and Andrew Rogahn. Together with their father, Reverend Gregory Rogahn, she poured her heart into raising them with curiosity, integrity, and a spirit of service. She was immensely proud that all three earned the rank of Eagle Scout, a testament to the values she instilled in them from an early age. Her love extended naturally to the women in their lives: Kristin Rogahn, Tammie Baker Rogahn, and Jillian Salas.

A gifted crocheter and cross-stitcher, Renee found joy in creating the everyday linens and stitched pieces she crafted with her hands and heart, works that will continue to be used and cherished by the people she loved. Her hands were rarely still, and her creations became a quiet testament to her care.

With tender remembrance of those who went before her, Renee was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Roberta Dosien, and her brother, Edward Dosien.

Those who continue to love her dearly include her sister Barbara (Dave) Hinkle, her sister Rebecca Dosien (Rick Ivester), her brother Randall (Sandy) Dosien, and her sister Margo (Dave) Haas, each surrounded by their families who loved Renee deeply.

She is also survived by her three sons, Matthew (Kristin) Rogahn; their children Kristopher (Victoria), Zachary, and Ava; and their granddaughter Emersyn, daughter of Kristopher and Victoria; Aaron (Tammie) Rogahn, their son Cole, along with Madison and Bailey; and Andrew Rogahn (Jillian) and his daughter Ryann, along with Jeremiah and Aiden, all of whom will carry her memory forward with deep affection and the faith she quietly lived.

A service celebrating the life and memory of Renee will be held at Hope Lutheran Church in Lubbock, Texas, on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 10:30 a.m., bringing together those who loved her in the place she made her home. A luncheon will follow the service. Those wishing to honor her memory may direct memorials to Hope Lutheran Church to benefit their Thanksgiving Basket Project.

A second memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Historic Trinity Lutheran Church in Soulard, St. Louis, Missouri, serving as a time of remembrance for family and friends in the area who cherished her. Memorials may be directed to the Historic Trinity Soulard Outreach Ministry.

Renee will be remembered for her gentle humor, her steady devotion to her family, and the countless ways she stitched love into the world, one loop, one row, one act of kindness at a time. Her earthly work is complete, and she now rests in the eternal love she long believed awaited her.
