Rex Voyles

Rex Voyles of Lubbock passed away into the arms of his heavenly father on Thursday, July 11, 2013.  He was born in Knox City, Texas to Alton and Lorene (Rowell) Voyles.  Rex was a World War II veteran serving in the Army Signal Corp.  He retired from Donrey Media in Oklahoma.  While there, he was elected and served two years as Circulation Director for the State of Oklahoma, as well as numerous committees with the Oklahoma press and Mid-Western Circulation.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Johnnie; son, Don Voyles and wife Veda of New Deal; daughter, Vicki Weaver and husband Kevin of Shreveport, LA; good friend, A. V. Looney; six grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Rex was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Gary Layne Voyles.

Visitation will be on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Combest Family Funeral Homes with the family receiving friends 5:30-7:30 p.m.  Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 14, 2013 at Combest Family Memorial Chapel.
