Rhonda Ann Perryman of Dickens passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at the age of 58. She was born September 15, 1967 in Slaton to Ronald and Bonnie (Carter) Scarbrough. Rhonda’s journey was marked by resilience, devotion, and an unwavering spirit that touched the lives of all who knew her.
From early on, Rhonda embraced small town living. She grew up in Lorenzo before she moved to Dickens during her high school years. She graduated from Patton Springs High School in 1986, laying the foundation for a life characterized by commitment and service. Her professional career was distinguished by her decade-long tenure as a correction officer at Dickens County Correction Center, followed by nineteen years of dedicated service at the Lubbock County Sheriff's Office.
Throughout her lifetime, Rhonda faced numerous health battles with remarkable courage and grace. It was amidst these trials that she found her greatest joy and true love in Lee Perryman, whom she married on April 13, 2024.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Lee Perryman of Dickens; siblings: Ronnie Scarbrough, Jr. and Kim Pierson and husband Joe of Lubbock, Kevin Scarbrough and his wife Mihee of Mountain Home, Arkansas, and Brian Scarbrough of Lorenzo; her beloved favorite aunt, Velma Thomas of Ralls; as well as her mother-in-law, Wanda Perryman of Lubbock, sister-in-law, Pam Allen and husband James of Dickens, and brother-in-law, Roy Perryman and wife Jennifer of Amarillo. Rhonda was also affectionately known as “Nini” to her seven nieces and nephews and 24 great-nieces and nephews. In addition to her beloved family, Rhonda leaves behind her fur babies, Bear and Sadie.
Rhonda was preceded in death by her parents and her dear son that she is now reunited with who passed away in 1995.
A memorial service honoring Rhonda’s life will be held at 4:00 pm, Saturday, April 4, 2026, at the Combest Family Memorial Chapel, 2210 Broadway in Lubbock.
