Robert Garcia

Robert M. Garcia, 79, of Lubbock went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 13, 2022. He was born on April 4, 1942, in Mexico to Juan and Zacarias Garcia. Robert grew up in San Antonio and moved to West Texas around 1960. He graduated from Wayland with his bachelor's degree. Robert worked as an automotive instructor, a mechanic, and was a carpenter. His hobbies were playing guitar and gardening. Robert was a family man, a jokester, and his ultimate love was spending time with his grandchildren. He was full of knowledge and was a mentor to his family and friends. Robert will be missed dearly.

Those left to cherish his memory are his long-time love Rosa Speed; daughters, Adriana Perez and husband Pete of Sundown, TX, Denise Guzman and husband Rudy of Lubbock, TX, and Ruby Garcia and Louis Salas of Brownfield, TX; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and siblings, Mary Gonzales of Mineral Wells, TX, Rachel Garza of Irving, TX, and Lucy Bottoms of Rowlett, TX.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Zacarias Garcia; and siblings, Ruben Garcia, Joe Garcia, and Rosa Rivera.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at Venue on Broadway with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at Skyline Baptist Church with burial to follow at Wolfforth Cemetery.
