Robert Welch

Robert Andrew Welch, 72, of Lubbock, passed away from his earthly home on Thursday, December 15, 2022. He was born on February 8, 1950, in Levelland, Texas to Eugene Andrew Welch and Hazel Lucille (Jones) Welch. Robert attended Levelland High School and then attended West Texas State University, followed by University of Texas Dental School where he graduated with his Doctorate of Dentistry. He spent the next 4 years as a Captain in the US Army Dental Corps. He subsequently worked as a dentist in Lubbock, Levelland, and Hobbs. Robert was married to Amy Roxanne Welch in 2015, who proceeded him in death.

Robert was an avid outdoors man who loved fly fishing, hunting, and golfing. If he was not outside, he was studying history, specifically Civil War history as well as cowboy/western history. Robert was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and he loved to play poker with friends.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Rich, Robin, and Riesa (Shawn); grandchildren, Macy, Alexa, Arden, Lincoln, Isla, and Kaia; sister, Jan (Darrell); along with numerous cousins and friends.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, Eugene and Hazel Welch; and infant son, Robbie Welch.

A graveside service will take place on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at 11:30am at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park. A Celebration of Life service will be held at First Assembly of God in Lubbock on December 21, 2022, at 1:00pm.
