Ronald Barclay Kiker, 69, of Lubbock passed away on February 28, 2023 after a long battle with kidney disease.
Ronald was born September 18, 1953 in Dallas, Tx to Barclay and Joyce Kiker. After graduating from Lake Highlands High School in 1972, he went on to study architecture at the University of Texas at Arlington. Before graduating, he decided to pursue different career options and ended up working in restaurant management. In 1988, Ronald and his ex wife, Paula, had twin daughters, Amanda and Jessica.
Ronald was a man of very few words, but worked hard and loved his family more than anything in the world. He always did his best to provide for his daughters and give them the best life he could. He spent the last 13 years living with and taking care of his mother, while dealing with his own health problems. In his spare time, he could be found working on puzzles and spending time with his grandchildren. He loved his grandchildren very much, they gave him a reason to keep on living.
Ronald was predeceased by his father, Barclay Kiker and nephew Matthew Kiker. He is survived by his mother, Joyce Kiker of Lubbock; his sister, Barbara Neely and her husband David of Round Rock; his brother, Mark Kiker and his wife Lori of Shallowater; his daughters, Amanda Bruce and her husband Justin of Lubbock, and Jessica Bratcher and her husband Cj of Lubbock; and his grandchildren, Kaylie, Wesley and Royce.
His memorial service will be Monday, March 6, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. in the Combest Memorial Chapel with Monty Pettyjohn officiating.
