With deep love and cherished memory, we announce the passing of Rose Marie Crouch on June 20, 2026, in her beloved hometown of Lubbock, Texas, at the age of 64, following a prolonged illness. Born on November 10, 1961, in Lubbock, Texas, to Johnie Virgil Crouch and Socorro Hernandez Crouch, Rose’s journey through life was one defined by her love of Jehovah God, her imagination, warmth, and steadfast compassion—a guiding light to all who knew her.
Rose’s childhood in Lubbock laid the foundation for a life threaded with creativity, kindness, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. During her younger years, she attended Edison High School in Huntington Beach, California, and later studied at Coastline Community College.
In 1980, at the age of 18, Rose became a mother to her greatest joy, her daughter, Socorro Ann Crouch, lovingly named in honor of her own mother. Known affectionately as "Rosie" to family and friends, she found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Her affection for animals brought comfort and companionship to her days, and her passion for crochet transformed countless hours into tangible expressions of care. With an artist’s soul and a heart open to beauty, Rose filled her days with vision and craft, never hesitating to share her talents or lend a helping hand.
Rose was an avid fan of classic rock music and crime television dramas. Many who loved her can easily picture her in her favorite place—surrounded by her beloved dogs, Piglet and Bessie, and her cats, Bandit and Bugs Bunny—watching CSI, enjoying her favorite snacks, and content in the company of the animals she adored.
She was a loving presence; imaginative and always attentive to the well-being of others. Though she often joked about not having the culinary touch, Rose’s true gifts lay in the warmth she exuded and the laughter she inspired. Her door, both literal and figurative, was forever open, and she accepted others as they were, nourishing hearts more deeply than any meal could.
Rose’s greatest pride was her family, especially her grandchildren, who brought immeasurable joy to her life. She leaves behind her beloved daughter, Socorro Ann Crouch; her cherished grandchildren, Micah Alexander Wixon, Andrew Timothy Wixon, Emily Abigail Rose Crouch, Katherine Socorro Jane Crouch, and Justus Matthew Crouch; her brother, Timothy Crouch, his son Johnie Virgil Crouch, and grandson Logan Crouch; her sister Jaynie Winkleman, her husband Robert Winkleman, their son Robert Lynn Winkleman and his wife Leslie and their children, and their daughter Christine Erin Winkleman; nieces Mercedes Anita Crouch and Lynnsey Victoria Rose Stewart and her children; and her sister Katherine Sue Crouch-Svensson and her son, Jarl Svensson.
Rose is preceded in death by her cherished parents, Johnie Virgil Crouch and Socorro Crouch; John William Crouch; and Jessica Colleen Crouch, whose memories remained close to her heart throughout her life. Their influence, entwined with hers, will remain a lasting testament to love, family, and resilience.
Those who knew Rose Marie Crouch will remember her for her loving heart, her imaginative mind, and her eagerness to help others; traits that left a mark not only on those closest to her but on the wider community she called home.
A Celebration of Life honoring Rose will be held on July 3, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Combest Family Funeral Home, 2210 Broadway Street, Lubbock, Texas 79401. All who were touched by her gentle spirit are welcomed to gather and share in remembrance of a truly remarkable woman.
Rose’s journey has come full circle in the city where it began, embraced always by the family and friends who loved her best. Her legacy lives in the art she created, the hearts she nurtured, the animals she loved, and the loving memory she leaves behind.
