Sally Saldana

Tahoka

Sally Saldana of Tahoka, Texas, passed away on April 5, 2026.

Born on June 4, 1945, in Tahoka, Sally was the daughter of Manuel and Maria Salinas. She built a life rooted in love, hard work, faith, and devotion to her family and community.

Sally was married to Frank Saldana, and together they shared 65 years of marriage, building a life full of memories, laughter, and unwavering commitment. Their love and dedication to one another stood as a beautiful example to all who knew them.

She spent many years serving her community through her work. Sally worked at Lankford Variety Store for 25 years and later retired from Dayton Parker Pharmacy in Tahoka after 26 years. To so many in Tahoka, Sally was a familiar and beloved face. It seemed everyone knew Sally from the drugstore, and she never met a stranger. Her kindness, warmth, and welcoming spirit made a lasting impression on everyone she encountered.

Sally was also a faithful and active member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Tahoka, where she volunteered her time and was especially involved with bingo and Jamaica’s. Her faith and generous heart were evident in the way she gave to others and stayed involved in her church community.

She loved life’s simple joys. Sally enjoyed playing bingo, trying her luck at the slots, and playing cards. She was very giving, sometimes too nice for her own good, and always made sure those around her felt cared for. She was known for making breakfast and for pouring her love into her home and family.

More than anything, Sally’s greatest joy, her main job, and her most important purpose in life was her family. They were the center of her world, and she loved them deeply.

Left to cherish her memory include her husband, Frank Saldana; children Michael (Jackie) Saldana & Patty (George) Deleon; grandchildren, Brianne (Paul) Esquivel, Josh (Ashdon) Deleon, Jordan (Trevor) Burkhead, & Jessie (Kassie) Smith; great-grandchildren, Marcos Esquivel, Ellie Burkhead, & Brantley & Briggs Deleon.

She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Edward “Waddy” Saldana; brother, Froy Salinas; & sister, Frances Flores.
