Shannon Lesly

October 22, 1961 — November 7, 2021

Shannon Rene Harlan Lesly, passed away peacefully in her home in Lubbock, Texas on November 7, 2021, following a 12-year battle with cancer.

Shannon moved from Dallas to Lubbock to attend Texas Tech University and made Lubbock her home. She worked for years as a buyer for United Supermarkets and for R. C. Taylor Distributing. She loved these jobs and the people with whom she worked, and often recounted the ways they graciously supported her during her cancer treatments.

Shannon married Chris Lesly on September 2, 2002, and together they devoted themselves to their newly blended families. Later, when Hannah Lesly was born to Shannon and Chris, their family was complete, and their hearts were full.

Shannon will be remembered for her selflessness in the love she showed to her family and friends. She will also be remembered for the strength and courage she displayed in her battle with cancer. She believed she had so much to live for, so many blessings to be thankful for, and that she purposed to live a life of joy. She would be the first to say that her selflessness, strength, and joy came from her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Shannon was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, William and Oleta Head Puryear; and her paternal grandparents, Herbert E. Harlan, Sr. (Louise) and Mary Frances Thurmon Llorente. (Jim).

Shannon is survived by her loving husband of 20 years, Chris Lesly; father H. E. (Spike) Harlan (Barbara); mother, Marceena Puryear Macaluso; step-father, Paul Macaluso; children, Ashley, Chelsea, Stephen Schumacher and Hannah Lesly; Christopher, Linda, Tammy and Margaret Lesly; grandchildren, Timanthony, Trinityann, Ma'Zayah, Maza'Riya, Elias, Aaron, Jose, Chris, Tapanga, Patrick; siblings, Quinton Harlan (Tammey), Stacie Harlan Mills (James), Nicole Macaluso Tisdale (Rob), Zach Harlan (Kendra); and many nieces and nephews.
