Sharon Kay Tivis passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at the age of 76, and is now in her heavenly home with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Sharon was born on December 24, 1948, in Bismarck, North Dakota, to J.A. and Opal Wilhite. A few years later, the family moved to Lubbock, where Sharon grew up to become a loving mother, sister, and a cherished friend to many.

On January 19, 1972, Sharon married the love of her life, Richard H. Tivis. Together they shared 33 wonderful years, building a life full of love, laughter, and treasured memories.

Sharon was a devoted homemaker, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. Whether it was fun shopping trips, cozy camping getaways, or grand vacations, Sharon cherished every moment. She had a deep love for the ocean and found peace walking along the beach, collecting seashells. Some of her most treasured adventures included trips to Florida, Cancun, and the San Antonio Riverwalk.

She attended Live Free Indeed, where she found strength, purpose, and a loving church family.

Sharon is survived by her daughter, Darla Rodgers and husband Eldon of Lubbock; her sons, Eddie Tivis and wife Deborah Taylor of Lubbock, and Ricky Tivis of Lubbock; her brother, Mark Wilhite of Amarillo; and her two beloved granddaughters, LaVoe and Jayla Rodgers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her daughter, Cheryl Swinney of Gallatin, TN, her parents, and her sister, Glenda Wilhite of Dallas.
