Sonia Franceschini

November 22, 1935 — May 24, 2026

Sonia Franceschini November 22, 1935 – May 24, 2026 Sonia Franceschini, a beloved soul whose life was a tapestry of kindness, warmth, and dedication, passed away on May 24, 2026, in Lubbock, Texas. Born on November 22, 1935, in the vibrant island of Puerto Rico, Sonia’s journey through life embodied grace and an enduring commitment to those she cherished most. Education was a cornerstone of Sonia’s life. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Education and devoted more than 35 years of her life to the teaching profession—a testament to her passion for learning and her desire to inspire others. This calling found its fullest expression in her career as a dedicated educator, where she nurtured young minds with patience, wisdom, and genuine care. Her influence extended far beyond the classroom; she touched the hearts of those around her with her kind and welcoming nature, always making others feel at ease. Her great sense of humor brought light and laughter, making every encounter a cherished memory.

Her love for Christ was at the forefront of her life. Sonia served faithfully as a Bible teacher, and her dedication to being His servant shaped everything she did. Her faith was not merely a part of her life—it was the foundation of it, reflected in her compassion, her service, and the way she loved those around her.

Sonia treasured her family above all else. As a mother, aunt, and a cherished presence to so many who knew and loved her, she had a remarkable gift for making people feel seen, welcomed, and cared for. She was especially fond of spending time with family during the holidays, moments that illuminated her heart and soul. Her love also blossomed alongside her passion for gardening, a pastime she adored, filling her days with the beauty and serenity of nature. These simple joys reflected a spirit that found happiness in connection and growth.

She is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Gerardo Negron, who stood by her side through life’s many seasons. Together, they nurtured a family that continues to carry her legacy forward: her children, Wanda Negron Franceschini and Fitzgerald Negron Franceschini; her cherished sister, Evelyn Franceschini; her grandchildren, Krystal Velázquez and Krystian Negron; and one great-grandchild who celebrate her memory and the values she instilled in them. Sonia’s passage from this earthly life was a triumphant transition—from the known to the eternal glory. She is now reunited in spirit with her grandparents, beloved parents Francisco Franceschini and Ramona Segarra, and her brothers and sisters who preceded her in death. Their legacy of love and strength lives on through her.

In remembering Sonia Franceschini, we honor a life rich with meaning, filled with devotion, and marked by an unwavering kindness that touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her story is one of heartfelt connection, a beacon of joy and resilience that continues to inspire all who hold her memory dear. Her presence may no longer grace the halls of this world, but her spirit endures, forever blooming in the hearts of those she loved so deeply.
