It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Sue Lillian (Putman) Pair. Sue entered the world on July 1, 1933, and left this life on January 21, 2026 at Country Assistance Living in Lubbock, Texas. Throughout her 92 years, Sue made an impact on numerous people with her humor, deep spiritual beliefs, and down-to-earth nature.
Sue was born in Lubbock, Texas on July 1, 1933. Soon afterwards, Jerry Clayton Putman and Mary Varina Boozer Putman adopted her.
She is survived by two daughters, the light of her life, Beverly Pair and Maureen (Mo) Pair, both currently residing in Lubbock, Texas.
Sue leaves behind special friends, Patricia Stanton, Mona Mojica and family, Paula Middlebrook, Carroll Lockett, James and Barbara Dunn, as well as her beloved caregiver, Naomi Havens. In addition, several extended family members, including cousins Jan and Tim Spence, and many friends, too numerous to mention who will miss her deeply.
Sue graduated from Shallowater High School and Merriman’s Business College. She worked as a secretary at insurance companies in Shallowater, Texas and the Lubbock County Courthouse, where she retired after 18 years of service.
Her passions in life included caring for the many felines that passed through her home, spending time with her daughters, taking pride in her appearance, watching Texas Tech sports (holding season tickets for Lady Raiders basketball for many years), and serving her Lord. In her elder years, her favorite pastimes were attending Primetimers at Trinity Church, including monthly banquets, and making weekly visits to the hair salon.
