Tara Strien

Tara Marie (Padilla) Van Strien, 40, of San Angelo, Texas passed away Sunday, December 26, 2021. Tara was born June 9, 1981 to Michael Anthony Padilla and Tammy Goodson in Clayton, New Mexico. She was of the Christian/Catholic faith. Tara graduated from Midland Lee High School 1999, and then worked as a merchandiser. She saw the good in everyone and everything and believed in second chances. Tara adored her family, and was super close with her brother, Aaron. They created a special bond the moment he was born. She also loved her two boys, Joren and Mason.

Tara is survived by her parents, Michael Padilla and Tammy Long (Aubrey); her two sons, Joren and Mason Van Strien; her siblings, Aaron (Bud) Goodson (Heather), Crystal Padilla, and Lexie Atkins; grandparents, Linda and Dwain Goodson; uncles, Leslie Goodson (Meiko), Jerry Mahurin (Lacy), Mike Padilla, Sr. Geron Jeffcoat (Jamie); aunts, Joann Padilla-Schmaltz (Eric), Gail Eubanks, Jennifer Diggs, Michelle Padilla, Aimee Saunders, and Stephanie Douangmani; three nieces and three nephews.

She was preceded in death by her great grandparents, Leslie and Louise Goodson and Juan and Elouisa Padilla; grandparents, Priscilla and Andy Padilla; and one brother, Christopher Michael Padilla.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, January 2, 2022 at Combest Family Funeral Homes, with family receiving friends 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 3, 2022 at Combest Family Memorial Chapel with burial to follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
