Teresa Ruiz

Teresa Ruiz of Lubbock passed away on Friday, September 27, 2024, at the age of 64. She was born January 8, 1960, in Urireo, Mexico to the late Jesus and Sara (Hernandez) Ruiz. When Teresa was a young mother, she migrated to America for a better way of life. Teresa worked hard to build a life for her family. She maintained her faith and was often found serving others by being a friend and feeding those closest to her, which was a love language. She loved her family deeply and enjoyed spending precious time with them.  

She took pride in her home, often found creating her own home and holiday décor. She took time sewing many items for her son and grandson. Teresa loved dressing up, her favorite color was powder blue. She was honest and funny, always making others laugh. Her laugh was very unique and could be heard across the house.  

Those left to cherish her memory are husband, Antonio Vargas; children, Fabiola Galvan of San Antonio, Juan Medina of Lubbock, and Kassandra Acevedo and husband Joshua of Lubbock; one grandson, E. J. Sala; and brother, Jesus Ruiz of Mexico.  

Visitation will begin at 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Combest Family Memorial Chapel with rosary being cited at 6:30 pm. Mass will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, October 3, 2024, at San Ramon Catholic Church with interment to follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
