Terry Martin, RN, 68, of Lubbock, Texas, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 10, 2022, after a brave battle with cancer. Terry was born in Lubbock, on October 27, 1953, to the late Gary Martin and Dorothy (McBride) Martin.
Terry met the love of his life, Susan Hallman, and they were married on January 8, 2016, in Lubbock.
Attending Coronado High School, he graduated with the senior class of 1973. He attended Texas Tech University, and then enrolled in the Covenant School of Nursing, graduating in the early 1990's with an Associate's Degree in Nursing. Terry worked at UMC before he went to Covenant Medical Center, retiring in 2020 after almost 30 years of dedicated life to nursing. He specialized in Oncology nursing at Covenant Medical Center. He loved home improvement, gardening and fly fishing. He was a member of Southcrest Baptist Church in Lubbock.
Those left to cherish and honor his memory include his wife, Susan; three sons, Zachary Martin of Lubbock, Gunter Igo and his wife Amber of Lubbock, and Garrett Igo and his wife Grace of Monte Verde, Florida; one brother, Paul Martin and his wife Jannine of Los Angeles, California; one granddaughter, Olivia Igo of Lubbock. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Christopher Mark Martin.
Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at Southcrest Baptist Church in Lubbock. Pastor David Wilson will be the officiant, along with Mr. Neill Carter and Mr. Herb Rankin as speakers.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, that memorial donations in Terry's memory be made to the American Cancer Society of Lubbock, 3513 10th Street, Lubbock, TX 79415.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Combest Family Funeral Homes and Crematory.
