Tommie Glenn Barron, 86 of Lubbock, TX, passed into his heavenly home on Friday, January 16, 2026. He was born on July 18, 1939, in Vernon, TX to parents Leslie Wane Barron and Mary Alice Bowling.
Tommie was a proud member of the Air Force, where he faithfully served for 20 years.
Tommie had a special bond with nature and cared for many animals throughout his life. His home was shared with an unforgettable collection of pets, including squirrels, crows, raccoons, turkeys, chickens, ducks, and beloved dogs.
He loved arts and crafts, often pouring patience and imagination into projects that reflected his thoughtful and hands-on nature.
Tommie also dedicated many years to serving as a Scout Leader, where he shaped young lives through mentorship, leadership, and example. One of his first Eagle Scout members was Willie McCool. He believed in teaching responsibility, curiosity, and compassion. He lived by these values every day.
Above all else, Tommie’s greatest love was his family. They were his pride, his joy, and the center of his world.
Tommie will be remembered for his gentle spirit, generous heart, and the quiet ways he made the world better.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Mary Barron; sons, Donald Glenn Barron- significant other Judy and Monte Dale Barron- wife Angela; grandchildren, Megan Barron, Tina Barron, Patrick Barron, Stephanie Johnson, and Victoria Barron; great-grandchildren, Amelia Stot, Logan Stot, and Mellanie Stot.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Mary Barron; daughter, Toni Barron; brother, Wayne Barron; sisters. Floy Sanders, Elvie Wadzeck, and Wanda Youngblood.
