Tommy Davis

Tommy Davis, 67, of Idalou, Texas, passed away in the early morning of Tuesday, March 26, 2024.  He was born on February 22, 1957, in O’Donnell, Lynn County, Texas, to the late Thomas Davis and Tana (Tucker) Davis.

Tommy graduated from Lubbock High School in 1975.   He met the love of his life, Shelley Moats, and they were united in marriage on May 12, 1979, in Lubbock.

Throughout his life, Tommy dedicated himself to serving others.  He spent 15 years working on the Santa Fe Railroad before transitioning to a career as an Operating Room Nurse with Covenant Medical Center where he compassionately cared for others for 20 years until his retirement.  Tommy attended the former Methodist Hospital School of Nursing, obtaining his Associate’s Degree in 1996.  He enjoyed making people laugh and liked to listen to people.

Tommy was a beloved husband to Shelley Davis, and a devoted father to his three sons:  J. D. Davis of Lubbock, Doug Davis (and Kirsten) of Plainview, and Jack Davis (and Torrie) of Lubbock.  He is also survived by his brother, Gary Davis (and Debbie) of Austin; four grandchildren:  Jaxon, Jordy, Keira and Hunter.  Also surviving are several nieces and nephews, as well as Sugar, his beloved Boston Terrier.  He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Dennis Davis; and one sister, Becky Kimbrough.

His kindness, warmth, and unwavering love touched the lives of all who knew him.  He will be missed by his family, friends, and the community he served.
