Tommy Williams

Tommy Williams, 71, a 57 year resident, since 1969 of the Lubbock State Supported Living Center, was gently lifted into heaven early Friday morning, May 29, 2026. Tommy was born on December 18, 1954, in Abilene, Texas, to the late William and Mildred Elaine Williams.

Tommy resided at the Abilene State School before moving to the former Lubbock State School in 1969.

Tommy worked at various centers on campus. He loved the outdoors, being out in the sun and the birds singing outside on the campus. He loved to eat and thoroughly enjoyed his lotion rubs. He was blind and non-verbal after birth. He was a very quiet and gentle man throughout his years here.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory include his legal guardian, Judy Kreller of Lubbock; and all his friends and staff of the Lubbock State Supported Living Center who love him and will miss him very much.

There will be a time of viewing and visitation from 12 Noon to 2 PM on Friday, June 6, 2026, in the Chapel of the Lubbock State Supported Living Center. Brief services will follow at 2 PM, with Pastor Wayne Moore officiating. Final rites and interment will follow in the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Home and Crematory.
