Velma S. Franco

Velma S. Franco, age 67, of Lubbock, TX, passed away peacefully on Monday afternoon, April 13, 2026. She was born May 31, 1958, in Big Spring, TX and dedicated her life helping others as a Registered Nurse. 

As a nursing graduate from West Texas State University, she utilized her experience in many ways from local hospitals to even expanding into traveling to places like Hawaii, California, Florida, Washington DC, and Europe. Throughout all her travels she found herself back home where she eventually retired as a Charge Nurse for a local ICU unit here in Lubbock, TX. 

Although nursing was her profession, her passion in life was living it to the fullest. She always had the passion of adventures and traveling. From her home away from home, Las Vegas, to the multiple cruises with her sister, friends, and family. To dancing and living it up in the clubs, she was always enjoying her life. 

She is preceded in death by her parents P.G. And Elvira Franco and CoCo her beloved dog and constant companion. Those left to cherish her memory are her son Bobby Franco; granddaughter Lyliana Franco; one brother: Robert Franco (Jessie); two sisters: Yolanda Clay (Craig Clay) and Rosemary Parmley (Jim); Nieces and Nephews: Case, Calin, Lauren, Dylan, Christen, Jacob, Tasha, and Meagan.

The family of Velma Franco will honor and celebrate her life with a memorial service at 2:00pm, Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Combest Memorial Chapel, 2210 Broadway St, Lubbock.
