Viola Margie "Bo" Potts

Viola Margie “Bo” Potts, 97, of Lubbock, departed this life to be with her Lord on Monday, October 10, 2022.  She was born on May 5, 1925, in Mayfield, Beckham County, Oklahoma, to Walter and Lula (Shinn) Bass.

She spent her early years in the Mayfield and Texola, Oklahoma communities.  She married Sterlin Potts on December 9, 1942, in Erick, Oklahoma.  They were married 61 years before he preceded her in death on March 25, 2004.  Her parents, seven brothers and one sister also preceded her in death.

Bo resided in the Texola, Oklahoma and Dumas, Texas area before moving to Lubbock in 2000.

She is survived by one daughter, Margie Pitcock and her husband Harylon of Lubbock; three granddaughters, Deana Pitcock of Lubbock, Donna Pitcock of Lubbock and D’Aun Denton and her husband Todd of Boerne, Texas; seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and friends.

Visitation for Mrs. Potts will be held from 5 PM to 7 PM on Friday, October 14, 2022, in the Oak Crest Suite of Combest Family Funeral Home, at which time family will be receiving friends.  Graveside services will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, October 15, 2022, in the Texola Cemetery in Texola, Oklahoma.  Steve McMeans, pastor of Indiana Avenue Baptist Church, will be the officiant.  Services are under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Homes.

Pallbearers will be her nephews, P. R. Bass, Buck Bass, Charlie Bass, Harold Gene Bass, Rodney Bass, Todd Bass, Kenneth Bass and Freddie Dale.
