Warren Donaldson

Warren Joseph Donaldson, 80, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2026.

Warren was born on October 16, 1945, in St. Joseph, Missouri, to Thomas L. Donaldson and Vera Virginia Donaldson (Russell). He proudly served his country as a Sargent in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, an experience that shaped his deep sense of duty and patriotism.

Warren was a devoted father and grandfather who valued family above all else. He is survived by his children, Leigh Donaldson, Lisa Donaldson, and Joey Donaldson (Emily); Laura Vandergriff; and Russell Johnson (Heather). He was a loving grandfather to Dylan Gentry, Nicholas Vandergriff, Ethan Vandergriff, and Carter Smith.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruth Donaldson, and his parents, Thomas L. Donaldson and Vera Virginia Russell.

In his free time, Warren enjoyed hunting, building and collecting model trains, and studying history. He was known as a history buff who loved sharing stories and knowledge with those around him.

A memorial visitation will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Venue on Broadway, located at 2202 Broadway in Lubbock, Texas.

Warren’s memory will live on through his family and the many lives shaped by his steady example.
