William Taack, Sr.

William Wayne Taack, Sr., was born on January 27, 1949 to Walter and Lela Mae Dollar Taack.  He grew up in Lockney, Texas graduating from Lockney High School in 1967.

Wayne was very interested in electronics and was a district sales representative for Marantz and Crown stereo equipment.  In August, 1974, Wayne became co-owner of Sound Emporium in Lubbock, Texas.  He continued to work in the electronics field for many more years.  Wayne loved hunting, fishing, and flying.  Prior to his recent illness, he was employed in the fishing department of Cabela’s in Lubbock, Texas.

Wayne was like a cat with nine lives, living through pancreatic cancer, bladder cancer and multiple surgeries.  He was a friend to many and will be greatly missed by all of those who knew and loved him.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents.  He is survived by his son, William Wayne Taack, Jr. and his grandchildren Lusiana, Anahi, and William; and a daughter-in-law, Olga.  A graveside memorial service to honor his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on August 30, 2023 at Plainview Memorial Park Cemetery, Plainview, Texas.
