Yrma Linda Reyes-Chavez

Yrma Linda Reyes-Chavez, our “Mami,” passed away on March 22, 2026, alongside her sister, Irene. She was born August 5, 1973, in Petersburg, Texas—and from the very beginning, she did life her own way.

Mami was tough as nails. She worked as a CDL driver and handled business, no matter what came her way. She wasn’t soft, but she loved hard. If you knew her, you knew she could check you real quick—but she’d also have you laughing just as fast. She had a personality you don’t forget.

She loved her music loud, her dancing wild, and being surrounded by her people. Mami didn’t just go to the party—she was the party. Half the time she had everyone laughing like she was on stage—our own part-time comedian.

But more than anything, she loved her family. That was her heart. Her kids and her grandbabies were everything to her. Being “Mami” and “Grandma” wasn’t just a title—it was her whole world.

She is survived by her mother, Guadalupe Reyes; her sons, Juan (Alex) Chavez and Andrew (Jasmine) Chavez; her daughters, Cassandra (Cruz) Ybarra, Maria (Brian) Jones, and Priscilla (David) Hernandez; her brother, Raymond (Patricia) Reyes; and her 27 grandchildren who meant everything to her. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and extended family who will carry her love and spirit forward.

Yrma is reunited with her father, Rosendo Reyes, her brother, Ricky Reyes, and now her sisters, Rosalinda Arroyo and Irene Ramirez Reyes.

A joint service to honor Yrma and her sister Irene will be held on March 27, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Venue on Broadway. All who knew and loved them are welcome to come together, remember them, and celebrate their lives.
