Dane Higgins

Dane Warren Higgins, 53, passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2023, in Lubbock, TX. He was born to Donald Walter and Sylvia Ann (Angell) Higgins on Monday, July 7, 1969, in Clovis, NM. He graduated high school in 1987, from Texline, TX, and continued his education at Lubbock Christian University.

Dane married Valency Zumwalt in June of 1992, together, they had 2 children Samuel and Anna. Dane was a Senior Sales Representative for West Texas Sales Team for Bayer Crop Science. Throughout his 30-year career in Agriculture, Dane was honored for his hard work by receiving numerous Master Sales Awards.

Dane was a loving husband and father; in his spare time, he liked to spend time fly-fishing, reloading, woodworking, and reading; most of all, he was a Christian at heart.

Those left to cherish the many memories of Dane are his wife, Valency Higgins, a son Samuel (Jordan) Higgins, and a daughter Anna, all of Lubbock; his parents, Donald and Sylvia Higgins, and his siblings, Lisa Cherry (John) of Midland, Joanna Davison (John) of Texhoma, OK, and Dan Higgins of Wichita Falls, TX.

The family of Dane will honor and celebrate his life with a visitation on Thursday, March 9, 2023, from 5:00-7:00PM, in the Oak Crest Suite, at Combest Funeral Home, 2210 Broadway, Lubbock. A funeral service will be held at 1:00PM, Friday, March 10, 2023, at the Venue on Broadway, Combest Funeral Home 2202 Broadway, Lubbock; burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery. The Higgins family will host a reception, following the burial, at Sunset Church of Christ 3723 34th Street, Lubbock.

Dane’s family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to the following: Luke Thomas for officiating the services, Don and Sylvia Higgins for the reception, The Fig and Flower for the floral arrangements, Peyton Winn at Resthaven Cemetery, and Robert Dobbs at Combest Family Funeral Homes.
