Don Alford

Don L. Alford was born on February 22, 1943 to Howard L. Alford and Milbrey Jo Bell Alford in

Lubbock, Texas. He graduated from Monterey High School in 1961, graduated from Texas Tech University

on May 29, 1965 where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. He was a member

of the First United Methodist Church of Lubbock, Texas. He was a father, brother, husband and

grandfather as well as cattleman and rancher for many years.

Don passed from this life on March 2, 2023 and he is survived by his wife, Linda Evans of

Lubbock; son, Howard G. Alford and his wife Serena of Pampa, Texas; granddaughter Herston

Alford of Amarillo, Howard’s mother Barbara Phares of Olton, Texas; brother John T. Alford of

Lubbock, Sister Ann Alford of Norwalk, Connecticut; niece, Jamie Pope of Dripping Springs, Texas.

He was preceded in death by a nephew John Alford.

A celebration of Life will be held Friday, March 17th at 1:00PM at St. Luke’s Methodist Church

located at 3708 45th, Lubbock, Texas with Dr. Andy Hurst officiating. The family will host a

reception on the Patio at Cook’s Garage from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM

The family has requested memorials to Hospice of Lubbock in lieu of flowers.
