Margarita Rodriguez, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at the age of 92. Margarita was born in Rockdale, Texas on April 26, 1931, and lived a full and happy life. Throughout her life, Margarita had a passion for knitting and crochet, creating countless beautiful pieces that will be cherished by her family and friends for years to come. She devoted her time in the Cursillo movement and as a Guadalupana of St. Joseph in Lubbock area & Our Lady of Guadalupe in Bay City, Michigan. She also loved word searches, crossword puzzles, and loved to read.
Margarita was married to her devoted husband for an impressive 71 years. Together, they raised eight children and built a loving and supportive family. As a homemaker, Margarita devoted her time to raising her family from Lorenzo, TX, Garden City, KS, Bay City, MI and to Lubbock, TX. In her later years, Margarita settled in Lubbock, Texas, where she continued to be an active member of her church community. She was known for her kind and generous spirit and was loved by all who knew her. She was a three-time survivor of cancer. Margarita's memory will live on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the countless lives she touched throughout her life. She will be deeply missed and always remembered for her warmth, creativity, and unwavering love for her family.
Those left to cherish her memories are her Husband of 71 years Alberto Gomez Rodriguez, her 8 children - Frances, Tom (Martha), Gilbert (Annett), Juanita (Mark), Larry (Vicenta), Mary (Danny), Jaime (Dora Alicia), & Dora. 24 Grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Waiting at the gates of Heaven were her Mother Enriqueta J. Rodriguez, Father Guadalupe Ontiveros, Step- Father Lazaro Rodriguez and her brother Guadalupe “Marcelo” Ontiveros & Sister Beatrice Zavala.
