Rita Cain

Rita Sue Cain, 79, of Rockwall, TX departed this life on Monday, March 20th, 2023. She was born on June 13, 1943 to Herman Renfro and Ruby Payne Renfro in Tahoka, Texas. Sue was a 1961 graduate of Tahoka High School. Following graduation, Sue attended cosmetology school, acquiring her license. She married her high school sweetheart, Billy Early Cain in December 1961. After joining Bill in Alaska during his military service, Bill and Sue made their home in Dumas, TX where they lived for 50 years. Sue devoted much of her life to Bill and her kids as a stay-at-home mom but was later employed at Treehouse Clothing Store in Dumas. She opened a clothing and craft boutique, Country Cottage, with dear friend Virginia Cariker, that ran successfully for several years. Sue was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Dumas for many years. Sue loved baking, shopping, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Those left to cherish her memory include brother, Don (Ruth) Renfro of Bandera,TX; children, Keith (Amber) Cain of Waxahachie, TX, Karla Bechtel of Claremore, OK, and Kacey (Terri) Cain of Rockwall, TX; 9 grandchildren, Savannah (Casey) Tucker, Amanda Cain, Colton (Madeleine) Cain, Joshua (Jessi) Bechtel, Jacob Bechtel, Joseph Bechtel, Katie Bechtel, Caleb Cain, and Mattie Cain; and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Cain; parents, Herman Renfro and Ruby Benn. The family invites you to join them for visitation Saturday, March 25th from 10:00-12:00 at Combest Funeral Home in Lubbock, TX; graveside services will follow at 2:00 in Tahoka.
